Stonecroft has been
owned by Corgis since 1970, producing our first litter in 1973. All
our dogs are home-raised and our breeding stock is tested clear for
genetic abnormalities (eye disorders & hip dysplasia). We
utilize bloodlines from around the world. We strive to produce dogs
who excel in friendly, outgoing personalities enabling them to be
loving family companions first, as well as animated show dogs.
On the show scene, we have had many firsts...

Now a little about the
people of Stonecroft. Kristen obtained her first corgi at the age
of 16 while showing hunters at horse shows in the United States.
Anita obtained her first corgi at the age of 14 from the Colwyn kennel
of John Heartz. In 1986, Anita purchased a show puppy from Kristen
and we started going to all the shows together. In the early
1990's, we decided to join forces as our taste in corgis was very
similar. We discontinued using Anita's kennel name of "Brynmere"
and continued to breed under Kristen's prefix of "Stonecroft". The
two most prominent dogs bred by us under Brynmere were
Tallyrand Brynmere First Love (who has gone on to produce very well for
Lois Zelenski's kennel) and Ch. Brynmere's Broadway Bound (Best of
Opposite Sex Winner of the 1991 PWCA(c) National Specialty under Beryl
Thompson). The rest is history.
Kristen has gone one step further and
obtained her CKC Judges license in 1995 and is now approved to judge All
Sporting, Working, Terrier, Toy, Herding Groups and Best In Show.
Although she enjoys judging at All breed dog shows her greatest joy is
judging at a Corgi Specialty where you can often see a twinkle in her
eye and a special smile on her face. This little breed is our
PASSION!!!!
